Hi, my name is Amy and I am the founder of ELM.
As you may already know, I am a paediatric occupational therapist. I have always had a strong passion for finding creative ways to provide engaging therapy. Over the last few years, I found that there was a side of me becoming increasingly disheartened and frustrated for families and early education centres trying to engage in therapy only to be faced with long waitlists or being turned away by organisations not taking on any new referrals.
My empathetic and creative lens wanted better. There is a national shortage across all allied health professionals throughout Australia. This is further challenged for families or organisations in a rural or remote part of Australia. From there the idea of Explore Learn Move was born.
As our team has grown so has our passion to operate as a social enterprise. Social enterprises are businesses that are led by an economic, social, cultural, or environmental mission consistent with a public or community benefit. We require a substantial portion of income from trade to help continue to grow and develop our resources however we reinvest surplus back to fulfil our mission.
We have recently launched our scholarship program, which is just one way to continue working towards our mission. To create greater access to early intervention throughout Australia.
